The igus drygear® "RL-D" worm gears are available in various designs for different applications. One thing that all worm gears have in common is the centre hole for cable feed-through. Suitable motor kits and proximity switch kits are available for all worm gears. You can find them here.
The worm wheel is made of tribologically optimised high-performance polymers, so the gearbox operates dry and is maintenance-free.
"RL-D" are available in sizes 20, 30 and 50. Symmetrical and asymmetrical designs are available for all sizes.
The symmetrical design with an output on both sides is often used in the vertical installation position. Typically, the gearbox is used as a drive for swivelling applications or as a robotics component.
The asymmetrical design with an output on one side is mainly implemented in the horizontal installation position as a rotary table or rotary axis and for rotating applications. Typical fields of application are material handling, toolmaking and sensor adjustment.
Both slewing ring bearing (PRT) and ball bearing variants are available for all sizes and designs. The slewing ring bearing variant is used with high axial loads and low dynamics, while the ball bearing variant is used with lower axial loads and higher dynamics.
